Bec Kingma graduated from the Victoria College of the Arts (VCA) where she completed the Bachelor in Film and Television in 2011.

Her graduating film Silent Night won Bec the Showcast Award for Best Director, the Orloff Family Trust Script Award and the Margaret Lawrence Social Justice Award.

During her time at the VCA, Bec has developed her own style of filmmaking. Her haunting and honest portrayals of the darker parts of life resonate strongly with audiences. Bec tells the stories we all know but have pushed to backs of our minds.
