The National Gallery of Victoria has offered a glimpse at one of its most ambitious projects to date.

Set to open in November, Melbourne Now will be a flipside to the Winter Masterpieces series, aiming to draw tourists who may already be visiting Melbourne to further engage with the arts.

The exhibition will feature living contemporary artists, including major new pieces and commissions, responding to the surrounding city. Architecture, design, fashion, performance and video work will all be featured.
