Raelene Sharp Wins Packing Room Prize

Melbourne artist Raelene Sharp has been awarded the Packing Room Prize in conjunction with the 2012 Archibald Prize for her portrait of actor John Wood.

Melbourne artist Raelene Sharp has beaten 839 other artists to take out the 2012 Packing Room Prize for her portrait of actor John Wood, entitled A Strength of Character.

The Packing Room Prize is the first prize announced in the country’s best-known portrait contest, the Archibald Prize. It is awarded by the gallery staff who receive the entries for the Archibald. Sharp received $1,000 and a $500 ANZ debit card.
