Mark Dreyfus QC announced as Shadow Minister for the Arts

Opposition Leader Bill Shorten announced his new Shadow Cabinet today, with the arts portfolio awarded to the Member for Isaacs.

Dreyfus, whose Victorian seat includes the Melbourne suburbs of Dandenong, Carrum Downs, Mordialloc and Mentone, was today announced as the new Shadow Attorney General and Shadow Minister for the Arts. He has also been appointed Deputy Manager of Opposition Business (House of Representatives).

First elected to the House of Representatives in 2007, Dreyfus, a former barrister, was appointed Queen’s Counsel in 1999. His maiden speech to Parliament reflected on his experience working for and with Indigenous Australians and his passion for the environment.
