Live performance generates record $1.47 billion in revenue

Cirque du Soleil’s Ovo contributed to a 162.8% increase in revenue for Circus and Physical Theatre in 2013.

The results of Live Performance Australia’s (LPA) 10th annual Ticket Attendance & Revenue Survey 2013, released today, indicates that ticket sales are up, ticket prices are up, and audiences are increasing.

Overall revenue for live performance increased from $1.205 billion in 2012 to $1.479 billion in 2013 – an increase of 22.7% and the highest revenue recorded since LPA’s survey was initiated.
