Landmark museums announce construction updates

Spearheading new futures, the Art Gallery of New South Wales (AGNSW), upcoming National Gallery of Victoria (NGV) Contemporary, and Powerhouse Parramatta make major announcements.

After welcoming applications from Australian architects for the world-class opportunity to design and build NGV Contemporary – soon to be the largest museum of contemporary art and design in Australia – four shortlisted designs will progress to integrate innovation, sustainability and connection into the 10,000 square-metre gallery space.

In the recent announcement, the Minister for Creative Industries Danny Pearson said: ‘The new gallery is part of Australia’s largest ever cultural infrastructure project that will be at the heart of a reimagined Melbourne Arts Precinct and create thousands of local jobs.’
