Many Australians say family photos are the first thing they would save from a burning house. But for people in developing countries the luxury of a tangible memory of loved ones is rare and even more precious.

Portrait Equality is giving travellers and photographers a chance to bring the pleasure of family photos to far-flung places while at the same time taking keepsakes and contributing to exhibitions of work about the countries they visit.
