Putting on a wonderful and daring collection of contemporary German cinema, the 12th annual Audi Festival of German Films celebrates one of Europe’s most culturally rich and diverse communities. The festival will run across eight cities throughout the first two weeks of May, which will include Newcastle and Byron Bay for the first time.

Presented by the Goethe-Institut in association with German Films and screening partner Palace Cinemas, the Festival will feature 45 award-winning films and documentaries over more than 230 screenings, curated by Festival Director Dr. Arpad Sölter. These will include inspiring thrillers, wry comedies and critically acclaimed feature dramas among others, and are screened across eight categories: Eastern Promises, Retro, German Currents, Kraut Pleasers, Hot Docs, Russian Roulette, Our Neighbours and Kinder Kaper.
