Ever since the Resource Work Cooperative opened the Resource Tip Shop in South Hobart in 1995, Art from Trash has been one of the ways it promotes the message to use the limited resources we have wisely and to take more care with what we call waste and how we dispose of it. Over that time the non-selective exhibition open to all ages has become a means for artists to establish a public presence by the exposure Art from Trash brings, whether that is to other artists, public figures who often open the exhibition or to the thousands of visitors who have come to see the show over the years.
