Bovell, the award-winning author of Speaking in Tongues (adapted for the screen as Lantana), When the Rain Stops Falling and The Secret River, last night gave the Keynote Address at the 2014 National Play Festival at Carriageworks in Sydney.

In his speech, entitled ‘Harold Pinter at the Ivy’, Bovell celebrates the role of the writer in our theatre and culture. He speaks about the iconic moments that have inspired his work, about the people he has met, the mistakes he has made and the lessons he has learned.
