A multi-million dollar funding between the NSW Government and the Sydney Theatre Company (STC) and a long-term lease were the two factors ensuring the future of performing arts practitioners and audiences enjoying world-class productions at STC.

Minister for the Arts George Souris and STC Chairman David Gonski AC, have both signed 45-year leases with STC for both of its venues at Walsh Bay. Mr Souris also commited $5 million, or $500,000 for ten years, on behalf of the State Government to support the company’s ongoing consolidation of its operation at both its Hickson Road and Wharf 4/5 theatres.
