How to ace a Skype interview

Video interviews are becoming a more and more popular way to interview, but how exactly should you conduct yourself in front of the camera?

Many employers like to conduct interviews over Skype for the simple fact that they can be done from anywhere while also having the added benefit of being more personal than the phone interview.

One of the most important things to remember while being interviewed over Skype is to act as you would in a face-to-face interview. Make sure your employer can see you clearly, and keep steady ‘eye contact’ by looking into the camera and not the screen. Ensure that you test the audio and video are working correctly before your interview begins – it would be a good idea to practice Skype calling with a friend before the big event happens.
