Workshop Manager
Hands-on Workshop Manager role keeping CTC\'s shared floor running: space planning, tools, materials, and OHS across animatronic production builds.
What you’ll do…
- Plan and configure shared workshop spaces to support multiple concurrent builds, adapting layouts as project needs shift
- Oversee tools, plant, gantries, and shared infrastructure: coordinating servicing, maintenance, and repairs to keep everything safe and operational
- Manage incoming and outgoing goods, set up areas, and internal logistics in collaboration with the Inventory Coordinator
- Maintain and develop workshop and deep storage systems, including racking, inventory, and practical retrieval processes
- Stay closely connected with the Production team to translate upcoming schedules into practical workshop readiness
- Support mechanical assembly, rigging, and lifting activities, and coordinate shared infrastructure use during build phases
- Monitor consumables and shared machine requirements using kanban-style tracking systems, and coordinate with purchasing to maintain supply
- Provide day-to-day OHS leadership – supporting inductions, reinforcing safe work practices, contributing to SWMSs, and responding to hazards in real time
- Contribute practically to workshop layout improvements, infrastructure upgrades, and facilities works
You could be the one if you have…
- A trade background or equivalent practical experience in a workshop or manufacturing environment
- Demonstrated experience coordinating shared workshop spaces, equipment, or infrastructure
- Hands-on capability with a wide range of hand tools and workshop equipment
- Practical understanding of rigging, lifting, and mechanical assembly
- Strong awareness of workshop safety risks, controls, and safe work practices
- Experience implementing consumables tracking and routine operational checks
- Ability to coordinate resources across multiple teams with competing priorities
- Clear, direct communication skills: you keep people informed and work through problems collaboratively
Nice to have
- Forklift license and/or EWP license(preferred)
- Rigging license
- Experience working in a production or entertainment fabrication environment
