Marketing & Development Manager
Metro Arts is excited to announce an incredible opportunity for passionate and energetic candidates to join us as Marketing & Development Manager.
This role is vital in supporting and promoting Metro Arts’ artistic program, leading key strategies across marketing, communications and development. The position provides critical support in building revenue sources in fundraising, partnerships, and box office returns.

About the role

- Line Management: Digital Communications & Design Coordinator
- 1 year contract with view to renewal
- Salary is $80,000 – $85,000 (dependent on experience) pro rata plus statutory superannuation
- Part-time, 0.8FTE
- 5 weeks annual leave pro rata
- Based at Metro Arts in West End, Brisbane, Queensland
- Ideal date of commencement is early April 2026
The Marketing & Development Manager is a vital member of the Metro Arts team. Leading key strategies across marketing, communications and development, the position provides critical support in building revenue sources in fundraising, partnerships, and box office returns.
The role is central to the ongoing positioning of Metro Arts within the creative sector and across sectors. The Marketing & Development Manager reports to the CEO, oversees the Digital Communications & Design Coordinator as direct report, and works closely with the programming and events staff.

Person specification
Essential
- Educated to degree level or equivalent experience
- 5 year track record in development and stewardship of funders, partners and donors; and/or of successful marketing and communications campaigns in the cultural sector.
- Knowledge of contemporary art and performance
- Familiarity with Salesforce (or similar CRM)
- Understanding of donor and partner cultivation and stewardship
- Understanding of audience data segmentation and audience development
- High-level written and verbal communication
- Highly collaborative approach to working
- Strong attention to detail and time management
- Commitment to equity, diversity and inclusion
- Applicants must have the right to work in Australia
Desirable
- Experience of working in the small-to-medium arts sector
- Line management experience
- Experience of website management and development
- Experience with G-Suite, Adobe Creative Suite, Canva, ClickUp (or similar project management software)
