Contemporary Asian Australian Performance
Executive Producer

Contemporary Asian Australian Performance is looking for a new Executive Producer!
Contemporary Asian Australian Performance (CAAP) is the only professional arts company dedicated to making exceptional contemporary Asian Australian work for all audiences. We engender greater cultural diversity in Australian performing arts by producing cross art form theatrical works of the highest quality, in partnership with major festivals and flagship companies. CAAP leads in developing, nurturing and championing Asian Australian artists to take their place on main stages nationally and internationally. CAAP is a resident company at Carriageworks in Sydney.
CAAP began in the early 2000s as a group of artists, the Asian Australian Artists Association or 4A. As a collective, they made a splash and have changed the mainstages of Australia in the process. They formed the gallery that now sits in Haymarket as well as starting what became Performance 4A. In 2016, under the leadership of Annette Shun Wah, Performance 4A became Contemporary Asian Australian Performance and took up residence at Carriageworks. In 2022 Tessa Leong took the reigns as Artistic Director. Since then, CAAP has continued to create exceptional work led by Asian Australian voices like The Bridal Lament, Milestone and Story of Chi and nurture the next generation of artists and arts workers.
Working alongside Tessa, the Executive Producer will take the company to new places, create new works and keep making change where it’s needed most.
