Art Centre Studio Coordinator

Arlpwe Art & Culture Centre is seeking a passionate and highly motivated Studio Coordinator to join their team.

Arlpwe Art & Culture Centre is seeking a passionate and highly motivated Studio Coordinator to join their team and work alongside an extraordinary group of Aboriginal artists and Elders. This is a rare opportunity to contribute to a vibrant, community-owned art centre at a pivotal moment of growth, as they prepare for the next round of national exhibitions and art fairs.

Their core group of 16 artists are making an impressive mark across the Australian art landscape, exhibiting in prestigious programs and receiving recognition as finalists, highly commended artists, and award winners in major national prizes such as the Telstra National Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Art Awards and the Ravenswood Women’s Art Prize. Their work has been featured in the Salon des Refusés – Darwin, with exhibitions in Melbourne, and Sydney, and is proudly held in both private and public collections across Australia and internationally.

Founded in 2008, Arlpwe Art & Culture Centre is a 100% community-owned organisation located in Ali Curung, in the Barkly region of the Northern Territory. Arlpwe represents the rich cultural traditions of four language groups – Kaytetye, Alyawarr, Warlpiri, and Warumungu – and serve as a vital cultural hub for our community. Set on Kaytetye Country, Arlpwe continues to share stories, knowledge, and creativity with audiences across the world.

Arlpwe are offering a competitive salary package of $60,000–$85,000 per annum, plus allowances and entitlements to be discussed during the interview process. More than just a job, this role offers a truly career-defining and life-changing experience – the privilege of working closely with artists, Elders, and community members, supporting them as they share their culture and creativity.

This is your chance to make a meaningful impact while advancing your career in the dynamic Aboriginal arts sector.

Desart is the peak body for 39 Aboriginal Art and Craft Centres in Central Australia and has been engaged by Arlpwe’s Board of Directors to manage their recruitment.
