This writing course, Writing for Insight and Transformation with Jessica Raschke, takes place at Writing NSW in Sydney.
Learn writing skills and exercises designed to take you deep within yourself: journaling, poetry, letters to past and future selves, and life writing with writer, artist and counsellor, Jessica Raschke.
This is an opportunity to learn about the craft of inner work and self-exploration through writing, guided by an experienced and sensitive facilitator. You will connect with like-minded writerly souls and bring home the beginnings of some inspired, heartfelt written works.
This writing course will guide you through various writing practices designed for gentle self-exploration and deeper self-understanding. Throughout the workshop, you will explore a range of writing modes, such as journaling, poetry, letters to past and future selves, and reflective life writing, and experience how writing can be a profound doorway into the inner self.
Jessica will offer gentle structure, thoughtful provocations, and grounded therapeutic awareness throughout each writing process. You will learn practical skills alongside reflective techniques that help you navigate memory, imagination, and the many stories that live within you. You will also share the space with other curious, like-minded writerly souls who value authenticity, depth, and creative connection.
By the end of the workshop, you’ll leave with a small body of inspired, heartfelt written works with fresh perspectives on your inner life, and writing practices you can continue to use for personal growth and self-expression.
Expected learning outcomes
In this workshop, participants will:

- Learn how to develop deeper insights into your inner self and how this can contribute to your writing.
- Gain an understanding of the history of inner work writing styles. For example, automatic writing, morning pages, poetry.
