This writing course, Write Winning Flash Fiction with Amanda Scotland, takes place at Writing NSW in Sydney.
Join prize-winning flash fiction author Amanda Scotland for a behind-the-scenes tour of the addictive world of flash and micro-fiction competitions. This practical, inspiring session will empower writers to confidently craft and submit competitive short-form stories.
Participants will explore the different types of flash and microfiction competitions and learn how to identify those that best suit their writing style and personal goals. The workshop will unpack the techniques that help winning entries stand out, alongside common fatal flaws that see stories quickly eliminated. As a bonus, Amanda will share rare insights into the judging process and what judges are really looking for.
Participants will begin (or continue) drafting a piece of flash fiction during the session and leave feeling motivated, informed, and ready to finish and submit their work.
