Francis (Seán Dowling) has a sharp eye for how quickly desire can become transactional, but Lilly (Anna McGahan) has an expiring “hubby-hall-pass”. Serene (Merlynn Tong) and Jade (Jodie LeVesconte) honour a five-year promise with fingers crossed behind their backs. Meanwhile, Jo (Julian Curtis) and Mik (Zac Callaghan) discover the virtues of amyl and wide-open conversation.
Wild Abandon, written by Seán Dowling, Ian Lawson and Merlynn Tong, is a funny, provocative, and unexpectedly tender new play about desire, identity, power, and the complicated business of being honest; with ourselves and each other. Directed by Daniel Lammin, Wild Abandon asks what happens when the boundaries we made to keep ourselves safe sometimes become the walls that box us in.
