Join us for an extraordinary evening of art and technology as we celebrate the launch of augmented reality (AR) artworks by Goya Torres alongside the opening of “Single Channel” at the Multi-Arts Pavilion, mima.

Step into the immersive world of “Virtual Street-art” by Goya Toress, where murals painted during her European residency come to life with augmented reality throughout the MAP mima grounds. From the pavilion to the bush and the lake, experience the fusion of art and technology as each piece, originating from cities across Europe, including Denmark, the United Kingdom, Italy, Poland, and Spain, is imbued with endemic animals and vegetation, symbolising our connections with nature and diversity.

Complementing the launch of the virtual landscape is “Single Channel” an exhibition curated from the National Gallery of Australia’s collection, featuring moving image artworks from 2000 to 2019 by some of Australia’s most prominent artists. Delve into powerful explorations of identity by artists such as Tony Albert, Destiny Deacon and Virginia Fraser collaboration, Silvana and Gabriella Mangano, Club Até, Shaun Gladwell, and Tracey Moffatt.

Single Channel is a National Gallery Touring Exhibition supported by the Australian Government through the National Collection Institutions Touring and Outreach Program.
