Weekend Pottery Workshop
Friday 16th January 9.30am – 3pm
Saturday 17th January 9.30am – 3pm, January 2026
Carys Martin Ceramics Studio, Cleveland (Redlands Coast)
Step out of everyday life and sink into two full days of slow, soulful making.
This immersive weekend workshop is the perfect chance to finally create that bigger project you’ve been dreaming about – an altar, a Green Man, a sculptural vessel, a goddess, a lantern, a planter, a centrepiece… whatever is calling to you.
Under the gentle, experienced guidance of Di from Mud of Moon, you’ll have the time, space, and support to bring your vision to life in clay.
What You’ll Learn
Across the weekend, Di will guide you through:
- Hand-building foundations – slabs, coils, pinching, shaping and joining
- Sculptural techniques – building form, working in sections, adding features and texture
- Structural design – how to plan and support larger pieces so they dry and fire safely
- Carving & surface decoration – pattern, mark-making, sculpted detail, storytelling in clay
- Refinement & finishing – smoothing, strengthening, and preparing your piece for firing
This workshop is designed for all levels – from absolute beginners to more experienced makers wanting dedicated time to create something special.
Your Project, Your Pace
With two full days to work, you’ll be able to:
- Start and complete a substantial piece
- Explore your own ideas with personalised guidance
- Experiment with form, texture, and technique
- Take creative risks in a supportive, inspiring environment
Whether you arrive with a clear plan or just a spark of an idea, Di will help you shape it – literally.
After the Workshop
Your finished piece will be:
- Carefully dried
- Bisque fired
- Glazed by us in your chosen studio glaze
- Fired again and ready for collection in a few weeks
A weekend of making.
A chance to breathe.
A chance to create something truly meaningful with your own two hands.
