Trauma informed editing workshop- A trauma-informed approach to words, writers and wounds
With the increasing global awareness of trauma, the respectful and informed editing of trauma themes in writing has taken on a newly significant role. Dr Alicia Leigh’s workshop will introduce editors to the principles of a trauma-informed approach and how they apply to the editorial process.
Learn how to prepare yourself for difficult narratives, avoid re-traumatisation and edit with empathy, knowledge and sensitivity. Whether you are editing fiction, non-fiction, memoir, an article or academic writing, this session will offer the tools you need to become a more trauma-informed editor, without compromising editorial standards.
This workshop will provide you with the confidence, foundational knowledge, and practical tools to apply evidence-based trauma-informed practice to your editing.
