Join 300 of Australia’s most talented young musicians this January for an intensive and inspiring experience that will elevate your artistry to new heights. SYO Summer School 2026 offers unparalleled musical education and the opportunity to perform alongside extraordinary peers.
SYO Summer School Registrations are open to all musicians; you don’t need to submit an audition or be enrolled in SYO’s weekly program to attend!
SYO Summer School is suitable for any student in primary or high school who plays an orchestral instrument, especially students with an AMEB Grade 2-4 playing viola, violin, cello and double bass. This 5-day workshop is open to all students aiming to improve their skills and connect with many like-minded musicians.
Musicians will receive expert guidance from tutors and conductors, who will challenge and support their orchestral skills. Students will be placed in ensembles suited to their experience level, helping them build confidence while learning alongside their peers.
Students will then share their new skills with a performance at the Sydney Conservatorium of Music, celebrating their work during the workshop.
