Symphony of Hues is a new suite of sweeping landscape paintings that explores the relationship between memory and place. Rather than depicting exact locations, Shanon Bradburn captures the emotional imprint left by the Australian landscape, inviting viewers to connect with its atmosphere and enduring presence.

Through a masterful interplay of light, shadow and tonal contrast, Bradburn evokes the raw beauty of oceans, rugged escarpments and expansive skies. Shifting clouds, surging tides and fleeting light dissolve and reform across the canvas, becoming conduits for memory, reflection and emotion. Each work invites the viewer to step into an immersive painted world where the landscape is experienced not simply as a place, but as a feeling.

About the artist

Born in Sydney in 1981, Shanon Bradburn is a Sydney-based landscape painter whose practice centres on oil on canvas. She studied at KVB College of Visual Design before undertaking portraiture studies with Nafisa Naomi, founder of Portrait Artists Australia, at the Royal Art Society of NSW in 2006.

Shanon held her first solo exhibition at Gallery 307 in Northbridge in 2007. After taking time away from her practice to raise a family, she returned to exhibiting regularly in group exhibitions and art prizes across Sydney. She further developed her practice by completing a Diploma and Advanced Diploma of Fine Arts at Meadowbank TAFE between 2010 and 2014.

A finalist in numerous art prizes throughout Australia, Shanon has received a Highly Commended award at the Meadowbank TAFE End of Year Exhibition, a Highly Commended award at the Northbridge Art Prize (2014), and a Commended award at the Blacktown Art Prize (2010).

With more than 11 solo exhibitions to her name, Shanon continues to expand and refine her practice. Her works are held in public and private collections across Australia and Europe, and she has completed major commissions for Royal North Shore Hospital. Her work has also been featured in Home BeautifulBelleArt EditArt Mood (2019), and Ones to Watch (2020).
