This writing course, Screenwriting Fundamentals with Chris Phillips, will be held at Writing NSW in Sydney.

In an age of limitless streaming platforms, Letterboxd, and ‘bingeable’ content, writing for the big or small screen is not what it used to be. For aspiring and emerging screenwriters, it’s a competitive and ever-changing landscape. This course will show you how make your story concept shine, develop fundamental screenwriting skills, and gain a unique insight into the world of film and television.

In this workshop with Chris Phillips, participants will examine a mix of basic theory, scene analysis, and practical exercises to explore fundamentals of character, story, and structure that can be applied to developing a screenplay.

No previous experience is required other than watching movies and small screen stories.
