Remy Faint is an Australian artist whose practice moves across painting, sculpture, and installation. Through layered material processes, he traces how personal histories intersect with broader narratives of inheritance and cultural memory. ‘A Site of Unfolding’ presents his most ambitious body of work to date, developed through an ongoing dialogue with family histories and archival encounters.

Spanning more than a century of material production, the exhibition brings new works into conversation with historical objects, allowing contemporary acts of making to unfold alongside inherited material histories. Across silk, clay, wood, and metal, archival sources are reconstituted as tactile forms that move between artefact and abstraction. Objects and images are translated across materials, repeated at different scales, and reassembled into configurations that unsettle the boundaries between document and interpretation.

Rather than treating the past as fixed or singular, ‘A Site of Unfolding’ continually reworks it through translation and material transformation. The exhibition constructs imagined sites of belonging, where personal and collective histories converge and are negotiated through embodied acts of making.
