Join us for a powerful evening of poetry and live music exploring the theme of motherhood.
Featuring writer and poet Jessica Chapnik Kahn, performing from her collection MADRE—a book of poems and drawings written in the depths of postpartum—and composer Anna Hirst Friedman, who brings several of these poems to life as choral works performed by a six-piece vocal ensemble.
Both the poetry and the music will be performed live, offering a rich and moving celebration of Mother in all her forms.
Hosted by Poetica MC Miriam Hechtman, the evening also includes our popular open mic segment.
Presented by Poetica in partnership with Woollahra Council.
