Melbourne, Australia – 6 November 2026
Two sisters. Two hands. One shared passion for art.
This November, Melbourne audiences will have the opportunity to discover the remarkable work
of sisters Zahra and Zohre Norouzi, whose expressive portraits, still-life compositions and
studies of nature explore identity, memory, human connection and hope.
Presented by ART RW Gallery and Opticon Framing, One Soul, Two Hands will officially open
on Friday, 6 November 2026, from 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm at The Frame Shop, 131 Puckle Street,
Moonee Ponds.
The exhibition is free, and everyone is welcome.
At the heart of the exhibition is a simple yet powerful idea: two artists can share not only a family
bond but also a profound connection through creativity. Working independently while sharing a
deep love of drawing and painting, Zahra and Zohre create works that reveal patience,
observation and sensitivity.
Their portraits are particularly striking. Created using charcoal, pastel, watercolour, pencil and
other media, the works capture far more than physical likeness. Eyes, expressions and subtle
gestures become a way of revealing the person behind the image.
Alongside portraiture, the exhibition includes animals, still-life compositions and studies inspired
by nature. Works including Age, Spring Still Coming and No invite viewers to pause and look
more closely, discovering emotion and meaning in seemingly simple subjects.
