NEW OLD NOW presents CHAPTER 4: And Roses Wilt in the End
16–17 November 2026 | Entertainment Quarter, Sydney
Following three sold-out seasons, independent contemporary dance company NEW OLD NOW (NON) returns to the iconic Entertainment Quarter car park with And Roses Wilt in the End, the fourth chapter in Artistic Director and choreographer Davide Di Giovanni’s ongoing exploration of life, love, memory and time.
Drawing inspiration from songs of love across cultures and generations, particularly the female voices of Mina and Amália Rodrigues, the work explores the beauty, longing and contradictions of love, and the inevitable passage of time.
Like the roses of its title, And Roses Wilt in the End reflects on the fleeting nature of beauty and the traces left behind by the people, experiences and memories that shape us.
Through a series of evocative, cinematic scenes, movement, music and light come together to explore the emotional landscapes of love and memory. Set against the raw architecture of the car park, NON creates an immersive theatrical experience that blurs the boundaries between contemporary dance, theatre and film.
The production features an ensemble of Australian and international dancers, including Shane Carroll, formerly of Nederlands Dans Theater, alongside long-time NON collaborator Chloe Leong.
Two nights only. Approximately 60 minutes. No interval.
