Necessity of Fragility is an immersive experience that weaves together projections, light, sound, scent and touch. Guiding audiences through an emotional journey of grief, trauma and healing; the exhibition draws from the artists’ personal tragedies, including the loss of his sister to suicide and the impact of the Yarra Valley storms in July 2021. These pivotal events shape the thematic foundation of the show, inviting audiences to reflect on the vulnerability and transformative power of art.
At its core, the project is a shrine of mourning and celebration, exploring loss, memory, and emotional resilience. It serves not only as the artist’s journey but also as a shared space for collective healing, encouraging audiences to confront difficult emotions in a supportive environment.
Join us from 6-9pm on Saturday the 22nd of November for a celebration of Necessity of Fragility. Experience the immersive exhibition, followed by a live performance by artist David Thomson (Lost Few) and a screening of his 15-minute documentary.
All welcome, light refreshments will be provided.
