Facilitated by Karlia May, a dancer and choreographer of Mā’ohi- Norf’k, Māori (Ngāpuhi) and Pākeha descent, currently based in Djilang, Victoria. Karlia’s practice is grounded in the embodiment of listening and honouring the ever-evolving relationality between her body, her ancestry, and the lands and water she grew up on and travels between.
This movement workshop is focused on listening, moving, and coming together. Karlia will guide the group through a contemporary dance class that is focused on floor work, intuitive movement pathways, and improvisation. This workshop is open to everyone of all abilities, ages, and bodies.
Attendance is free, limited to 30 people. Long pants and shirts are encouraged, and bare feet is a preference.
