Opening the program will be Copland’s Fanfare for the Common Man, a bold and uplifting work to set the vibrant musical tone for an extraordinary evening. Britten’s Young Person’s Guide to the Orchestra follows, a dynamic and engaging showcase of orchestral brilliance. This outstanding work will be narrated by three young musicians who will bring the piece to life as they introduce each of the instruments of the orchestra as they join in one by one to eventually combine for the grand full orchestral highlight. This work is perfect for families who want to get to know the instruments of the orchestra and see how they can come together so beautifully.

The highlight of the night will be Holst’s monumental masterpiece titled The Planets. This breathtaking masterpiece captures the essence of the celestial bodies, from the fiery battle cries of Mars to the majestic sweep of Jupiter and the haunting mystery of Neptune.
