Immerse yourself in a vibrant week of oil painting in this hands-on, fast-paced workshop designed for artists (beginners and experienced) ready to deepen their practice. Across five thoughtfully curated days, we’ll explore the core elements of painting; colour, tone, composition, brushwork, and creative intuition through a series of guided exercises, demonstrations, and finished works. Each day focuses on a fundamental aspect of alla prima painting, beginning with dynamic drawing warm-ups and quick studies, before moving into longer painting sessions. You’ll learn how to mix luminous colour, simplify form through tonal observation, design compelling compositions, and develop your own expressive mark-making. Whether you’re refining your style or reigniting your studio practice, this workshop offers a space to experiment, play, and produce a rich body of work. By the end of the week, you’ll leave with a series of completed canvases, a toolkit of techniques, and a renewed confidence in your creative voice.
