26 September – 31 October

Hallway Gallery

Integrating fieldwork and studio practice, Gardener explores local birds and their stories in the Onkaparinga region, mapping ecological relationships and foregrounding other-than-human connections to place.

Opening Saturday 3 October 2– 4pm

Please join Jorji to celebrate the launch of Tracing Absence, the result of six weeks spent in studio as artist in residence. We welcome guest speaker Catherine Truman, artist and mentor to formally open the event from 2.30pm.

Through collaboration with the bushland and its inhabitants, the artist builds a layered understanding of place, foregrounding bird narratives and tracing absence where their song has fallen quiet. At the heart of this residency was the aim to foster a deeper connection between birds, community and place, amplifying these other-than-human voices.
