This autumn, In Focus Festival lights up the streets of Footscray and Yarraville with striking photography presented entirely outdoors and free for everyone.
Running 21 April to 31 May 2026, the inaugural festival turns the public realm into a walkable exhibition across multiple sites, featuring large-scale works shown on billboards, lightboxes and temporary installations.
The program brings together acclaimed and emerging photographers including Atong Atem, Daniel Temesgen, Henry Watson, Jody Haines, Marcelle Bradbeer, Nicole Reed, Simon Terrill, Spencer Nguyen, and Wenmiao Xin, with work spanning portraiture, documentary, landscapes, diaspora narratives and community-focused practice.
Alongside the outdoor artworks, explore talks and events including curator-led twilight tours, family activities, artists in conversation, and a 1950s vintage photo booth experience (plus special screening).
Plan a visit, follow the trail through both precincts, and make a day of it by stopping in at local cafés, bars and shops along the way.
