Working across installation, sculptural assemblage, painting and durational performance. Olivia Jane’s practice operates as a form of world building. Refracting the overstimulation and states of escapism adopted from rave cultures structures through duration, excess, collectivity, repetition and after effects. As a methodology for making and experiencing work.
Material explorations work to link parts of the identity, as it moves through states of depersonalisation, grief and transitions. Incorporating a sculptural installation your invited to inhabit, where light reflections and embedded sounds create movement through stagnation. The work is build to be activated, disrupted or subtly reconfigured. As its completed through the disruption of the decomposing natural elements, as space is held for the residue of the parts of self removed and destroyed.
