Friday Night Sounds launches Newcastle Art Gallery’s reopening weekend with a one-night street party that transforms Laman Street into a temporary sculpture park.
The precinct will come alive with temporary installations and performances by artists from the Gallery’s collection such as James Drinkwater, Deborah Kelly, Dani Marti, Braddon Snape and Tina Havelock Stevens, as well as food trucks, pop-up bar and interactive family installations.
Inside the Gallery, visitors can explore the major reopening exhibition Iconic loved Unexpected through a series of special activations. Experience the Gallery’s icons, loved favourites and unexpected gems from their nationally renowned collection of more than 7000 works of art by local, national and global artists.
Free entry.
