Guitar masters and longtime collaborators James Sherlock and Fran Swinn unite for a night of bebop and original jazz. Expect fretboard virtuosity as we hear reimagined arrangements of Swinn and Sherlock’s compositions for two guitars, backed by the incredible talents of Tom Lee on bass and Danny Fischer on drums.
Fran Swinn, a prominent figure in the Australian jazz scene, has collaborated with artists such as Tamara Murphy and the Eugene Ball Standards Quartet. Her albums, including Old Idea/New Idea, showcase her innovative guitar playing and have received widespread acclaim. In addition to her performing career, Fran teaches guitar and performance at Monash University.
James Sherlock, winner of the Ike Isaacs International Jazz Guitar Award, has performed at top venues worldwide, including the Montreux Jazz Festival and the Melbourne Recital Centre. His extensive collaborations range from Sheila Jordan to the Melbourne Symphony Orchestra.
Together, Sherlock and Swinn bring an unforgettable blend of virtuosity and creativity to the stage.
