Since its inception in 2005, Festival of Voices has celebrated the joy and wellbeing benefits of singing. What began as a small group of music lovers gathered around a fire in the depths of Tasmania’s winter has grown to a 10-day festival featuring local, Australian, and international talent who compose, teach, perform and host our diverse event series. With choral, cabaret, classical, comedy, and contemporary, there’s something for every music lover, whether you want to attend, learn, or participate!
Festival of Voices celebrates our arts industry and island home, expanding beyond its Hobart origins to offer events in many communities around the state. There are ticketed events in Launceston, the East Coast, the Huon, Port Arthur, and New Norfolk, plus free events as part of the Pop-up Program in even more regions.
Running from 28th June to 7th July, there’s plenty to choose from whether you want a classical performance with Luminescence, a cappella with Deke Sharon (the man behind Pitch Perfect!), an art-pop gig with Montaigne, the nostalgia of 80s vs 90s with Massaoke Oz, a spot of song trivia, cabaret with Mama Alto, or even a silent disco with the family. This year, Festival of Voices aims to unite Tassie and its visitors in song!
