‘Akribie’ is the German word for meticulousness, which stands for extreme diligence, greatest correctness up to embarrassing accuracy.
This describes my way of working exactly. Although these are shots from the vast field of street photography, I attach great importance to image composition, lighting conditions, and the insertion of that perfect moment. I prefer not to leave things to chance, but my pictures reflect my personal view of the perfect moment in this situation.
I encounter my protagonists purely by chance; all photos are candid. Patience and dedication are essential. The individual person, who appears as a recurring element in all my photos, symbolises the interplay between humanity and its urban environment. However, at the same time, his role can also prompt us to reflect on our own role in the environment that he has helped create. Because, sometimes, modern man, despite all the innovations he has brought forth, seems to be one thing above all: rather small.
