Desert Mob presents a rare chance to join Anita Mbitjana Ratara, Hayley Panangka Coulthard and Beth Mbitjana Inkamala, of the renowned Hermannsburg Potters collective, for a two-day ceramics workshop and a special screening of their new animation Antala-iperra (Weather).
The Hermannsburg Potters are a dedicated group of Western Aranda artists renowned for creating vibrant handmade ceramic pots that encompass collective and individually lived histories in their Country. The Ntaria artists continue a 30-year legacy, sculpting and painting their visual histories and contemporary settings, speaking to their cultural beliefs, traditions and values.
Over this two-session, two-day workshop, you will learn the processes involved in creating their iconic hand-crafted pots. On day one you’ll make your own pot and (after it dries overnight) return on day two to decorate it.
