In collaboration with the community, the artists will create an installation in the gallery space, which will evolve over time. An immersive and sensory experience, Cloud Time investigates key questions: How do we respond to and care for each other during times of crisis and conflict? How can we maintain inner peace, social cohesion and deeper connections within our natural environments, public spaces and communities?
Utilising the potent and restorative power inherent within creativity to foster a sense of wellbeing and rejuvenation, Cloud Time invites visitors to step out of their everyday world for a moment, to take the time to slow down and be present.
Conceived as an extended artist residency, the exhibition will transform over time as both artists inhabit the gallery and its surroundings. Inciting moments of wonder, awe, joy, laughter and fun.
Taking form in a collective ‘Imaginarium’, Cloud Time encourages connection, contribution, and a space to share stories and inspirations, while offering a unique opportunity for the public to witness artists at work in a safe space that fosters creative risk-taking and nurtures the creative process.
Nested within Cloud Time ‘Confluence’ brings together a collection of Mandy Pickett’s past works, abiding themes and curiosities. ‘Confluence’ is defined as a place of coming together, or flowing together, meeting or gathering at one point. In this project, the artist is exploring waterway confluences, the places where people meet each other, and the places where natural environments and people meet.
Across the exhibition period, several public programs and curated events will support the show. Mandy Pickett will facilitate a series of Art Adventures run by Recreating Place, in response to the Cloud Time and Confluence themes. While Amanda Ruck will take to the streets of Healesville in a series of pop-up cloud painting sessions out the front of Verso Books.

Please Note
Mandy will at times escape the confines of the gallery space, into the foyer, out the front door and onto the street and parks, experimenting with various experimental pop-up art installations and interactive roving performances, activating indoor and outdoor spaces in the Memo precinct during opening hours. These will be a mix of advertised events and spontaneous surprise happenings and experiences.
At night these activations will illuminate the surrounds with moveable art installations and site responsive performances featuring dance, circus, artwork projections, and light.
During the day the activations will invite passers-by to; linger longer, take a moment to ponder, to venture into the Memo and contribute to the ’Collective Imaginarium’ nested within the exhibition.
