The Castlemaine State Festival returns from 20–29 March 2026 for its 50th anniversary, presenting a landmark ten-day celebration of contemporary arts, creativity and community in Regional Victoria.
Featuring over 55 events across music, performance, visual arts, exhibitions, talks and workshops, the program unfolds across Castlemaine’s most distinctive spaces — from Town Hall and sweeping churches to gardens, streets and unexpected sites. Highlights include the Opening Night Street Party and the closing Garden Party.
Deeply connected to place, the Festival champions accessibility and engagement, with a strong offering of free and low-cost events. Audiences are invited to explore a richly layered, choose-your-own-adventure program that reflects the creative spirit of Castlemaine and its community.
