Anti-rot agenda
Are you hoping to read more and scroll less? Just don’t want Book Week to end?
Join artist Louise Meuwiseen to create your own portable, functional work of art in the form of an embroidered bookmark. Tap into your expressive imagination, and, fingers crossed, never lose your place again.
Inspired by the rich history of embroidered bookmarks, and a firmly held belief that crafting and reading are nourishing for the mind and soul, this workshop puts a contemporary spin on traditional practice.
Working with coloured felt and collected vintage and second-hand yarns and threads from Louise’s extensive collection, participants will learn a series of embroidery stitches, be guided in the creation of their design, and craft something special.
You will go home with new skills, new connections, and a unique miniature artwork that might just help to get through the stack of books next to your bed.
All material provided. No previous sewing skills require. People of all ages and abilities welcomed and encouraged.
