Prepare for a night of virtuosic musicianship and some good old-fashioned floor-stomping swing. Presenting original music in a vintage jazz style, The Big Idiot Club is the new project from Flap! frontman and trumpeter Eamon McNelis.

Are you lost? Bewildered? Are you in love? Or maybe, you simply can’t see what’s right there in front of your nose. If so, The Big Idiot Club is here to welcome you with open arms. With more than 7 billion members, The Big Idiot Club is the world’s leading social club for fools, bumblers and the frequently incorrect, and the best news of all? You’re already a member.

Prepare yourself for a riotous night of original vintage jazz, sharp wit, and swing-soaked soul for fools and romantics alike, led by acclaimed trumpeter and frontman Eamon McNelis.

Eamon McNelis picked up the jazz trumpet at just eight years old. He has supported Branford Marsalis at the Melbourne Concert Hall and recorded with artists such as Amanda Palmer, Tripod, Jen Cloher, and Julie O’Hara, among others. A recipient of the Wangaratta Jazz Award for Brass, Eamon is best known for his work with Flap!, JAZZPARTY, The Meltdown, and a host of other celebrated ensembles.
