Steven’s works convey her personal intrigue in the affective qualities of the process of transformation. Collecting objects/things that many view as redundant, Stevens stores them until the right opportunity, and by assembling, connecting or ordering them, each object/thing, which individually speak or correspond with her concerns, are given new life.
Forgotten Treasures incorporates decades long forgotten, and seemingly untouched contents from found metal cabinets with the traces and stories these items left behind: documenting the passing of time, a reminder of the fragility of temporal existence.
