Join artist Alexandra Peters for the launch of her exhibition and in-conversation with gallery curator Micky Schubert as they discuss her exhibition The Graven Image.
Emerging from painting, Alexandra Peters’ practice spans printmaking, sculpture, and assemblage, often taking the form of installation. Her work explores expanded painting through the interrogation of support structures and framing devices, guiding and restricting how the viewer navigates between pictorial space and sculptural form.
On the occasion of her first public institutional solo exhibition, Peters returns to her hometown of Warrnambool to showcase a site-specific installation. Peters draws attention to the broader structures of trade and its hidden systems by co-opting the individual hand into industrial processes.
