Bachelor of Creative Arts (Honours) (Visual Arts)

The Bachelor of Creative Arts (Honours) year is for students who have done well throughout their degree. If you have a distinction average or higher, the honours year offers an additional year of study to pursue both critical and creative projects.

For your creative project, you will produce a major body of work in your chosen discipline; while your critical work will take the form of an accompanying exegesis or standalone dissertation on a topic of your choosing. The honours year allows you to pursue a topic or idea you are interested in with a supervisor who is there to encourage and support you.

Potential employers appreciate the honours degree because it demonstrates that students can achieve complex goals, meet deadlines, investigate independently, use resources effectively, and write clearly.

See the course handbook for more information.

The honours year offers students the chance to pursue in-depth critical and creative projects and acts as a bridge between undergraduate study and advanced research.

As a Bachelor of Creative Arts (Honours) student, you will also work alongside exceptional artists and learn first-hand how to become a professional practitioner in this expansive sector by immersing yourself in the wider artistic community.
