Donnalyn has a Bachelor of Arts (Media and Communications), and a Bachelor of Arts (Honours Class I and the University Medal) in English and Art History from the University of Sydney, where she teaches as a casual academic in Art History. She also works in membership and projects at the National Association for the Visual Arts (NAVA), and edits poetry for the literary youth magazine Voiceworks.
