Friday, 30 May saw the opening of the exhibition Sugababe described by its artist as a ‘living art-piece’. The ZKM Media Museum in Karlsruhe, Germany, is housing a work of art by Diemut Strebe which is a genentically engineered copy of Vincent Van Gogh’s famous left-ear.

Strebe, who states that: ‘the crossover between science and art has increasingly become the main focus in my work’, has recreated the ear with a team of scientists by using cartilage from a descendent of van Gogh’s brother, Lieuwe van Gogh.
